To add new command, do the following (BASICALLY).. Go in srcfiles/command_funcs.c 1. In the sys[]. commands structure where all the commands are defined, add a line for your command, in the following form.. {"NAME", LEVEL, JUMP_LEVEL, TYPE, "ABBREVIAITON"}, NAME : The name of the command LEVEL : The lowest level that can use the command JUMP_LEVEL : A unique number for the command. This is the next highest number not used in sys[]. TYPE : The type of command for .h categorization. Types are listed in constants.h ABBREVIATION: The single character abbreviation given to the command by default. Users cna change theirs with .abbrs Example: {".newcmd", 0, 200, NONE, ""}, 2. In the exec_com() function add a case: for your command just like the rest of the commands. The format is: case JUMP_LEVEL: FUNCTION_NAME; break; /* short command comment */ Example: case 200: newcmd(user,inpstr); break; /* a test command */ 3. Add your function in the code where the other commands are defined. (So as to tell the program what you want the command to do.) Example: newcmd(user,inpstr) int user; char *inpstr; { } 4. Re-compile the talker
